Introduction

Sack Kraft paper (or simply sack paper) is a porous Kraft paper with high resilience and tear strength developed for packaging products with high strength and durability requirements.

Pulp made with the Kraft process is stronger than that made with other pulping processes. The acid sulfite process further breaks down the cellulose and weaken the fibers. Mechanical pulping processes leave most of the lignin in the fibers, whereas forced pulping removes most of the lignin originally present in the wood.

Kraft Paper Tape is produced on moderate speed paper machines. The raw material is usually softwood pulp from the Kraft process.

Maintaining a high available sulfur ratio or high sulfidity is critical to obtaining the highest possible strength using the Kraft process. This paper tape processing can use a wider range of fiber sources than most other pulping processes.

Properties

• Regular kraft paper is tough and relatively rough. High tensile strength. The basis weight is typically 40-135 g/m2.
• Kraft Paper Tape, or simply sack paper, is a porous kraft paper with high elasticity and high tear strength developed for packaging products with high requirements for strength and durability.
• Absorbent Kraft Paper Tape is manufactured with controlled absorbency (that is, highly porous). It should be made of clean low-kappa hardwood kraft paper with good uniformity and formation.
• This paper tape requires the highest possible longitudinal strength and transverse elongation. This is achieved by high fiber orientation on the paper machine.
